BAMBOO

Bamboo is an ideal plant for erosion control. Running bamboos spread out forming a dense, underground network of rhizomes and roots making a very effective barrier to erosion to control or stop damage from flowing water. Many bamboos are small groundcovers and a few can grow in dense shade. Some are better than others for different situations and sites. Planted along streams or gullies it can help to stabilize the sides.
